    NICE1 is an iceless cold and compression therapy device used to aid recovery and reduce pain in the post-surgical and acute soft tissue injury settings. The device works by circulating precise cooled water and compressed air through a therapy wrap that is placed on the affected body part. The cooled water provides pain relieving cold therapy by cooling the deep tissue and slowing down the conduction of pain signalling nerves and nociception; the air inflates the therapy wrap causing it to compress around the injured body part, aiding in the reduction of inflammation and edema.


    NICE1 delivers this precise cold therapy without the need for ice or the maintenance of water. It also provides programmable pneumatic compression which is proven to reduce edema and speed recovery. NICE1 integrates these highly effective therapies in a small and lightweight package with an easy-to-use touch screen interface.

The cold therapy acts as an analgesic by reducing the ability of pain-signalling nerves to conduct and transmit perceptions of pain, thereby alleviating pain and numbing the treated area consistently throughout the entire treatment duration. Compression will reduce excessive swelling/inflammatory response, aiding in the reduction of inflammation and edema. After a therapy session, the effects will gradually diminish, at which point the NICE1 therapy can be reapplied.

  • Do I need to buy a sleeve or will my hospital provide it?

    NICE-affiliated hospitals will provide a therapy wrap for your stay, which you can take home if you choose to rent a NICE unit for continued use during your post-op recovery. 

  • How long should I hire NICE1 for?

    Our minimum rental period is two weeks, if you have an understanding of your healing process and are confident to hire for a longer period of time that is fantastic. If you are unsure, we recommend booking for the 2 weeks and extend the booking on a week-week basis as needed. No stress.

  • Do I need ice?

    As it's an iceless system, there is no requirement for ice.
